Welcome!
Hello!
Welcome to the website of
Friendship United Methodist Church.
We hope you can find all the information you need on these pages. If you
have any questions or need additional help, please feel free to
contact me.
Friendship Church is a dynamic, multicultural, multiracial and
multigenerational congregation. We see ourselves as people on a journey of
faith, helping one another and the world to see the face of God, experience
the love of Jesus Christ and live in the freedom and power of the Holy
Spirit.
We believe real community is important, and so we treasure spending time
together in fellowship coffees after church, in pot-luck dinners, in Bible
studies and prayer groups, in service projects and mission trips, in worship
and praise. At our church, we hope Friendship is more than a name!
We love children and youth. They have an important place in our life
together. We celebrate their openness, honesty and joy. We have Sunday
School and Youth Group where
young people can explore, ask honest questions, grow and learn. Our nursery
offers childcare for infants and toddlers at all worship services. We also
offer a Christian Preschool program with our
First Friends Preschool and a
Mom's Day Out program on Mondays and Thursdays.
We love older adults. At the Senior’s Luncheon and Bible study each month we
share life experiences, perspective and laughter as well as great, homemade
meals. We love people of all ages and are happy to be part of a congregation
that really has all the generations represented and connecting with one
another.
Our Sunday Worship Services try
to speak to the hearts of people with various tastes in music and liturgy:
- The 9:00 Contemporary Service praises God to the excellent music of
the Friendship Band.
- The 10:45 Traditional Service swells with the beautiful sound of the
Chancel and Bell choirs.
- At both services, we use art, graphic design, videos, drama, and dance
to enhance and illustrate our message which is always taken from the
Bible.
- Our African Service
at 12:30 pm is a new and developing service of
praise, prayer, and preaching. African drums and dance add joy and
celebration to this great new worship opportunity.
- Our Gujarati Indian Service
is held the second Sunday of every month at 5:00 p.m. Wonderful times of
fellowship follow each service. We hope you will come and worship with us!
We want Jesus Christ to be glorified by our congregation.
We go out into the world, having been strengthened by our life together and
the power of the Holy Spirit, to make a difference.... to proclaim Christ by
what we do and what we say. We are a congregation in mission and ministry to
our local community and the world.
We are not perfect but God loves us and wants to be with us anyway. We are
grateful for God’s love and take hope in the amazing grace of Jesus Christ.
If you are not perfect, if you are looking for grace and love and an
opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself, something that can
change the world, we invite you to come and join us.
Blessings and grace to you,
